A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident at Nitaishah point on the Dhaka-Dinajpur highway under Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur yesterday.
“The accident occurred when a truck hit a running motorcycle from behind there killing the motorcyclist on the spot this noon,” said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ghoraghat police station Abu Hasan Kabir.
The deceased was identified as Sujan Sarker, 35, son of Atul Sarker of village Naglu in Sonatola upazila of nearby Bogura district.
Sujan was a worker at a shop in Raniganj Bazar of Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur.
He was going to his workplace at Raniganj Bazar from Ghoraghat Bus Stand riding on a motorcycle when the mishap took place.
Driver of the killer truck managed to escape from the scene with his vehicle.
A case has been filed with Ghoragachh police station in this connection.
