Motorcycle driver beaten to death in Bakerganj, nine detained

A motorcycle driver beaten to death, his mobile phone and motorcycle looted at Khoyerabad village in Garuria union of Bakerganj upazila on early Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Faisal Ahmed Prince, 26, son of Nurul Islam Haoladar of the same village.
Police after informed recovering the dead body at 4:00 AM on Wednesday from behind a shop sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Foyez Ahmed, officer in charge (investigation) of Bakerganj police station.
ASM Masuduzzaman, officer in charge of Bakerganj police station, said nine persons were detained in this connection for interrogation and four of them already acknowledged about their connection with the killing. Looted motorcycle and mobile phone of the victim also recovered from the detained persons.
During interrogation, it was revealed that a group of labours were working to sink a tubewell at the neighbouring house of the victim.
Prince was beaten to death and his motorcycle and mobile phone were looted by the tubewell sinking labours while he was returning home at about 11:00 PM Tuesday night. Dead body of the victim was concealed behind a shop of the spot.
Prince was beaten to death and injury signs were seen at different parts of his body and his head was crushed by hit of some heavy thing, police sources said.
Nine labours from the spot were detained for interrogation and four of them including one Russell confessed about their connection with the killing for collecting money to spend for their drug addiction, police sources added.
Preparation for lodging case was going on till this report.
