The owners registered their vehicles without any harassment at one-stop registration camp set-up in the country’s different places on Thursday. Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) took the initiative.
Road and Transport Minister Obaidul Quader visited a one-stop motor-cycle registration camp on the Manik Mia Avenue in the capital marking the International Civil Service Day.
The registration will continue from 10 am to 3 pm in the BRTA office. Several hundreds motorbikes were registered at different registration camps of the country. At Tiger Pass area in Chittagong, around 50 motor-cycles were registered till mid-day. “We have registered around 50 motorbikes till 2:30 pm. Those who could not register their vehicles at the temporary camps after submitting required papers should approach our office for registration,” said Shahidullah, Deputy Director of BRTA, Chittagong zone.
The vehicle owner should have, a copy of application form issued by the importer of the vehicle, three copies of photographs, bill of entry or invoice or LC copy of the dealer, sell certificate, packing list or delivery invoice or gate pass, value added tax (VAT) copy, BRTA approval letter, registration fees, national ID card copy or telephone bill, Tk 50 non-judicial stamp for 125 CC motor-cycle.
“We register motorbikes on the basis of different category. To register a motorbike one has to submit 25-30 kinds of papers. The registration fees depends on the types of motorbike category, as 101-153 CC motor bike need Tk 12073, below 100 CC motor bike needs Tk 10463. Beside that below 90 CC motorbikes needs comparatively less registration fees,” said BRTA official.
In Rangpur, the BRTA also observed International Civil Service Day by inaugurating spot registration of motorbikes. Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur District Md Rahat Anwar, BRTA district deputy commissioner (Eng.) Md Mohsin Hossain, assistant director (Eng.) Md Atikul Islam, Inspector Md Moidur Rahman and Nurus Safa Sarkar were present, among others.
The legal ownership of a bike depends on the registration by the authority approved by the government. Motorbike is the most beloved thing of its owner. To secure its safety by the papers registration is badly needed.
