Information Commission (IC) on Tuesday submitted its Annual Report-2014 to President Abdul Hamid.
An IC delegation, led by Chief Information Commissioner Mohammed Farooq, submitted the report to the President during a meeting at Bangabhaban.
During the meeting, the Chief Information Commissioner apprised the President of various aspects of the annual report.
He told the President that there are 21,000 assigned officials across the country to provide information to the people.
The delegation also apprised the President that so far 69,000 information on different issues have been given to the people and the commission disposed of 920 complaints of not giving information requested by the people concerned.
The President underscored the need for motivating the people about the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
Abdul Hamid asked the commission to work with new vigor to fulfill its objectives.
Secretaries concerned to the President were present.
