Mothers’ role vital for reducing school dropouts

Speakers at a gathering of mothers said mothers’ role are vital for reducing school dropouts and ensuring quality education to the children.
They were addressing a mothers’ gathering organized by Somamona Forum Narsingdi (a non- government voluntary organization) at Rajadee-Chinishpur High School ground yesterday.
Chairman of Chinishpur Union Parishad MN Zaman attended the gathering as the chief guest. General Secretary of Somamona forum Narsingdi Aminul Haque Khan presided.
Former Headmaster of Rajadee-Chinishpur High school Abu Bakkar Siddique, Headmistress of Rajadee government Primary School Lipi Rani Sarkar, Head-mistress of Chinishpur government Primary School Monwara Sultana, President of Chinishpur primary school managing committee Nuruzzaman, President of Somamona forum Chowdhury Mohammad Yahia and others spoke on the occasion.
Over 300 mothers of students of local schools of the area were present at the gathering.
The speakers called upon the mothers, teachers and guardians for concerted efforts in building an illiteracy-free Bangladesh through ensuring 100 percent enrollment in primary schools.
They also said mothers and guardians can play vital role in ensuring
quality primary education and accountability of teachers to make their
children worthy citizens of the country.
The participant mothers assured that they will be able to reduce dropouts
from primary schools by engaging all possible efforts and to improve standard
of education through co-operation, regular supervision and providing
suggestions.
