A group of armed miscreants allegedly strangulated a mother to death and hacked her son to injury at Bagutia village under Shailokupa upazila of the district on Monday night.
For arranging press conference at Jhenidah Press Club , husband and father the loyalists of ex-Abaipur UP chairman Rafikul Islam have slaughtered his mother to death and they have hacked him to injury, Jinnah alleged.
The victim is Sajeda Khatun, 45 , daughter of late Khorshed Alom of Bagutia village and her son Jinnah Alom, 29. Officer- in -charge (OC) Sagir Mia of Shailokupa police station said on Monday night, Sajeda Khatun and her son Jinnah Alom have been sleeping on the varanda of their house at Bagutia village. At around 11-30 pm a group 7/8 of armed miscreants attacked them and hacked Jinnah to injury while they dragged his mother to a nearby village field and strangulated her to death. After investigation it will be clear why she has been killed, the OC added.
On information police reached the spot at 10-00 am and recovered the body and sent it to Jhenidah sadar hospital morgues for an autopsy. Injured Jinnah has been admitted to Jhenidah sadar hospital. Injured Jinnah Alom told this correspondent that he along his mother arranged a press conference at Jhenidah press club on September, 28 claiming ex-Abaipur UP chairman Rafikul Islam as husband and father.
