A mother and her son were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in the city’s Uttara area on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Ruma Begum, 40 and her son Alif Hossain, 8. They are inhabitants of Uttara Section-8, police said. Quoting the witnesses, Uttara West Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Zahangir Hossain said that the incident took place when a bus
of Balaka Paribahan and an another bus of Turag Suprobhat Paribahan hit each other in a head-on collision near the Jasim Uddin Road area at around 11:00am, leaving them dead on the spot.
The injured were taken to the Uttara Crescent Hospital immediately after the incident.
The bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy, said the police official.
