One mother was killed by his mentally disordered son by an axe at Rajarhat upazila in Kurigram district last Friday noon.The deceased was identified as Mini Akhter(48) wife of Solaiman Ali at Panthabari village under Umar Mazid union of the upazila.
The villagers said Mini Akhter was performing Namaz in her room at the time of Jumma on Friday.
At that time, her mentally disordered son Montajul (26)chopped in the neck of his mother with an axe. Mini Akhter was killed on the spot. The villagers held Montajul and informed to police. Rajarhat thana police rushed to the spot and arrested the killer.Chairman of Umar Mazid union Mohammad Ali Sardar told New Nation that he was mentally disordered. He was under treatment. He also beat up his father before some days. No one could dare to go before him. When the incident occurred, none was present in the house.Officer-in-charge of Rajarhat police station Krishna Kumar Sarkar admitted the incident and told this correspondent that the killer Montajul was arrested from the spot.
