Mother killed, 2 children hurt in Badda fire

A woman was killed and her two children were injured when a fire broke out in a tin-shed house at Boithakhali in the city’s Badda area early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Jesmin, 38, and the injured were Jesmin’s son Amanullah, 11, and
daughter Sanjida, 8, said Farhad Hossain, Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Headquarters.
The fire started from a furniture shop on the ground floor of the house around 4:00am and soon engulfed the entire house.
On information, four firefighting units rushed in and doused the fire after one hour frantic effort.
Later, they carried Jesmin and her two kids to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Jesmin dead around 7:30am, said Kazi Wazed Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Badda Police Station.
