Mother fishes specifically curf fish viz. rui, katla, mriga and kalibous release spawn in the Halda river on Friday following the heavy downpour accompanied with thunder bold .
Halda river is the famous natural fish breeding zone in Asia But the quantity of spawn not upto to the mark as earlier. Very limited number of fishes released spawn, local spawn collectors sources said.
A district fishery office official sources confirmed the news of releasing fish spawn. District fishery office sources said additional security measures have been deployed in around 20 kilomerters areas of Halda to avoid catching of mother fishes during release of spawn by the unscrupulous fishermen, Sources said a number of fish hatcheries of Madunaghat, Machuaghona and Garduara under Hathazari Upazila and Kagatia, Mobarakhiland west gohira under Raozan upazila are ready to process the spawn into fish fries, a fish hatchery owner Babul of gohira told this correspondent.
