Halda river is the only natural breeding centre for carp fishes across the country.
Naturally during the heavy thunder and hail storm, these locally popular fishes like.
Rui, Katla, Mrigel and Kalibous releases spawn from very beginning of Baishak month.
But this season witnesses releasing of sample spawn (roe of fish) unexpectedly on Thursday(April 7).

These pisiculturists are now busy to prepare fish hatchery in their respective fields. Thefishermen and the pisiculturists observed that they will be able to procure desired fish spawn this year if the rain and thunder storm hit in this zone.
Asstt. Profession of Biology and fish breeding expert Md. Manzurul Kibria confired the release of sample spawn .
The fish roe collectors and pisiculturists told that despite many obstructions, mother fishes rushed in Halda river to release spawn .
They said it is essential for easy releasing of spwan to stop movement of engine driven boats, sand lifting dredgers in Halida river for the time being.
As the same vigilance over the uninterrupted fishing should be restricted in these specific points of the river during the breeding time by the law enforcing men and the local awared people. District Fishery Officer Ms.Pravati Dev told that she visited Hathazari Madunaghat, Barihona, Shahmadari, Mobarakil, Napiterghona, Binajuri, Kagatia, yesterday(Thursday) and talked a number of spawn collectors.
They said a few quantities of sample spawn they collected yesterday in the morning. She said only 30 to 35 spawn collectors procured very small quantity of spawn .
They also said if the heavy rain with thunder storm come down, all the mother fishes might be release abundant quantity of fish spawn, sources added.
The conscious citizens observed govt should deploy abundant quantity of law enforcers in the river to resist the unscrupulous fishing by the greedy fishermen.
