Mother and daughter were killed by lightning during a heavy rain at Paghli Aga Pahar under lama upazila of the district on Thursday.
The victims were identified as Jaheda Begum,34, and her daughter Nasima Akhtar,15.
The thunderbolt all on a sudden fell on them during a torrential rain in the area when they were working in an agricultural field. Both of them died on spot. One cow and one goat of farmer Ashraf Ali of the area were also died by lightning. An UD case was recorded with Lama thana in this connection, police said.
