A 12-year old baby girl and her mother among three females were reportedly gang-raped during a holiday trip in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna district on Wednesday night.
Two of the victims, who were garment workers, aged 28 and 25 respectively, went on a holiday trip at one of their colleagues at Rampur village of Haripur union in Chatmohar upazila a week ago.
Police have detained at least four persons for interrogation in this connection. They are Sima, 28, Ruzina, 25, Masud, 25, and Saiful, 26, garment workers in Dhaka’s Nabinagar area and inhabitants of Pabna, Police said.
“A group of 5 to 10 miscreants gang-raped them at Gozargari Bill area of Haripur after kidnapping them from the house,” said Md Ekramul Haque, officer-in-charge of Chatmohar Police Station.
One of the victims filed a case with the police station on Thursday morning accusing 8 to 10 unknown persons, the police official said. The victims also claimed that they were violated in a bill area by threatening of killings, the OC said.
We are investigating the incident and it will be cleared after getting medical test reports, he said.
The arrested persons were being interrogated in this connection, the OC added. The victims were sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital for medical test, the OC said.
