A woman has allegedly taken her own life by taking poison after ‘killing’ her minor boy at Balia village in Tala upazila.
The deceased were identified as Moyna Begum, 26, wife of Shahidul Moral of Muragachha village in the upazila, and their son Hasanur Rahman, 3. Officer-in-charge of Tala Police Station
M Sagir Miah said Moyna and her husband Shahidul had a tiff on Thursday night over a family matter.
At a sequel of the altercation, Moyna took poison in the early hours of Friday when other family members were asleep, he said, adding that she might have poured poison into the mouth of the minor boy, killing them on the spot. The family members noticed the bodies around 3 am, the OC added.
