A woman allegedly committed suicide after strangulating her two minor daughters at Dakkhin Deshibari Asrayan Prokalpa in Jaldhaka upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Fenchi Begum, 32, and her two daughters-Aklima, 7, and Taslima, 9.
Getting no response from Fenchi and her daughters, local people peeped through the fence of their house and saw her hanging from the ceiling of the house and informed police around 9:30 am, said Ayub Ali, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Jaldhaka
Police Station.
Later, police broke open the door and found her hanging and bodies of her two daughters lying on the bed. The bodies were sent to Niphamari Hospital morgue. Police suspected that Fenchi might have strangulated her two daughters to death and then killed herself by hanging from the ceiling of the house.
Fenchi along with her two daughters had been living in the Deshibari Asrayan Prokolpo.
It is still not clear what actually prompted Fenchi to resort the suicidal path.
