bdnews24.com :A mother and her one-month-old child were drowned on Tuesday when the boat carrying them capsized after being caught between two vessels in river Buriganga.South Keraniganj Police Station OC Jamaluddin Meer said that the dead has been identified as Khadiza Begum, 25 and her 28-day-old son Obayed Ullah.The boat sank around 10.30 am when it caught between two vessels, said the police officer.Her husband Wahab Mia, 28, has been admitted at the Mitford Hospital in old Dhaka, while Begum’s mother Setara Begum, 60, who was also on the boat, is still missing, said OC Meer.Fire service divers have been informed to trace the missing and the locals are also searching for the 60-year-old, he added.Wahab Mia told bdnews24.com at the hospital that he earns living as a driver of a private car at Savar.He along with his wife, son and mother -in-law came to Wiseghat on Tuesday morning to board a launch for their ancestral home in Patuakhali to spend the Eid vacations.
