Mother and brother of Barrister Tureen Afroz filed a general diary (GD) against her with Uttara West Police Station under Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Friday.
The GD was lodged after her mother Shamsun Nahar Tasnim and younger brother Shahnewaz Ahmed Shishir were not allowed to enter their own house at Uttara.
Shahnewaz said, “We returned home from Canada and went to Uttara’s house yesterday. But the gate man and ansar members of the house barred us from entering the house at the direction of my sister.”
He also said his sister Tureen Afroz was at home during the time. Failing to enter the home, they came back. Later, they filed GD No. 738, Shahnewaz said.
Regarding filing GD, Uttara West Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tapan Chandra Saha said that Shahnewaz, an expatriate in Canada, wanted to enter the house but his sister Turin Afroz did not allow, Shahnewaz mentioned in the GD.
Earlier on November 19, 2017, her mother, widow of Taslim Uddin Ahmed, lodged a GD against Tureen Afroz.
On January 1, Shahnewaz lodged a case against Tureen Afroz before Dhaka’s First Joint Judge Court on charge of occupying the home.
According to the case statement, Tureen Afroz drove away mother Shamsun Nahar Tasnim and other tenants from the house intimidating by police on March 2, 2017.
Claiming her owner of the house, Tureen took deeds and documents of the house in her possession too.
