A young woman and her two daughters were found dead at their house in the city’s Dakkhin Surma area on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Jony Begum Sheuli, 32, wife of Hasan Munshi of Kamalapur village in Maksudpur upazila of Gopanganj district, and their daughters-Mim, 15, and Sima, 12.
Smelling bad odour coming from the house at Mostafa Miah Colony at Jhalopara, neighbours informed police, said officer-in-charge of Dakkhin Surma Police Station Khairul Fazal.
Later, police rushed in and broke open the door only to find the trio lying dead, he said.
But they could not trace Hasan Munshi, the OC said, suspecting it to be a murder incident.
