Stress is, unfortunately, a reality for many workers. But according to CareerCast, some employees face stress that is virtually omnipresent-caused by travel, deadlines, working in the public eye, competitiveness, physical demands, environmental conditions, hazards encountered, and more-with even higher levels of stress that spike in unpredictable times.
And the job searching site has identified what it believes will be the top 10 jobs with the most stress this year.
Each job is stressful for different reasons, the site points out.
Police officers and firefighters make the list because of the risk to their lives-or the lives of others-they regularly face, while journalists and public relations professionals’ stress may come from deadlines and often inhospitable circumstances.
