Mosquito Elimination, Cleanliness Week begins in dists

Deputy Commissioner, Kishoreganj Md. Sarowar Morshed Chowhdury inaugurated the Mosquito Elimination, Cleanliness Week in Kishoreganj municipality areas to destroy mosquito larvae on Thursday morning.
Deputy Secretary and Deputy Director of Local Government Md. Abdullah told the New Nation that under the program, the eight pourashave and 13 upazila of the disrict.
Workers are useing a fogger machine and hand spnays.
Kishoreganj Pourashava including district administration arranged a discussion meeting hled at local Param Square in Kalibari road on Thursday marking the country-wide Mosquito killing and cleanliness drive week.
Deputy Commissioner Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury was attended as chief guest while Deputy Secretary & D.D Local Government Md. Abdullah in the chair.
Poura Mayor Md. Parvez Miah and ADC (G) Abdullah-al-Masud were attended as special guest.
It was addressed among others by Sadar UNO Md. Abdul Kadir Miah, Sanak President Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal and CAB District Secretary Monowar Hossain Rony.
Bhangura (Pabna) Correspondent reports: The Mosquito Elimination was observed by Bhangura Upazila Administration in Pabna through the procession on Thursday.
In the morning, a colorful rally led by UNO Sayed Ashrafujjaman was brought out at Bhangura Municipality Town. Students of Govt. Primary School and College, Teachers, Government officers,Journalists and Public Representatives participated in the rally.
At this time, the students of school and college carried placards containing slogans for killing mosquitoes. Among others Principal Md Shahiduzzaman and Vice Principal Alhaj Mahmuda Khatun of Govt. Haji Jamal Uddin College,Panel Upazila Chairman Golam Hafiz Ranju, female Vice chairman Azida Parvin Pakhi Joined in the rally.
BSS from Rangpur adds: The ‘Mosquito Elimination and Cleanliness Week began here on Thursday afternoon aiming at eliminating mosquito and maintain cleanliness to free Rangpur city from mosquito related diseases.
Panel Mayor-2 of Rangpur Mahmudur Rahman as the chief guest launched the week-long campaign through cleaning weeds and spraying insecticides using fogger machines at different areas of the city.
City Councilors, Chief Medical Officer of Rangpur City Corporation Dr. Kamruzzaman Ibne Taz, its Chief of Conservancy Division Shahinur Rahman and Health Inspector Abdul Kaiyum were present.
The week-long campaign will end on July 31 next to eliminate mosquito and maintain cleanliness to effectively prevent breeding of mosquito for freeing.
