Mosharraf stresses dev at grassroots

Overseas Employment and Expatriates Welfare Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain has said the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has planned expediting development at the grassroots to make Bangladesh a middle income country within a shortest possible time.
Mosharraf said this while addressing a big public rally on Khalilpur High School ground under Sadar upazila here on Friday.
The minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is relentlessly working to make Bangladesh a happy and prosperous country and urged the people to extend their support to her in this regard.
Mosharraf announced that from now on 10,000 people will go to Saudi Arabia every month with jobs as the Bangladesh manpower market opened in that country after a long seven-year closure.
Criticizing the BNP-Jamaat clique for killing innocent people in the name of blockade and hartal programmes, he said the heinous attempts of the group will not be successful in denting the strong foundation of the present government.
He advised the intending Saudi job seekers to get their names registered with the UISCs and after that the selection will be made through lottery.
The minister announced that Khalilpur Bazar will be developed with a good communication network along with other infrastructure facilities.
He handed over donation cheques for Taka two lakh to Khalilpur High School, Taka one lakh to Khalilpur Bazar Mosque and Taka 50,000 to Khalilpur Primary School.
Machchchar Union Awami League President Zahid Munshi chaired the rally which was addressed, among others, by Awami League leaders Mokarrom Mia Babu, KM Selim, Mainuddin Ahmed Manu and Shamsul Alam Chowdhury.
