Staff Reporter :Three buses and a truck set on fire in Dhaka and other parts of the country on Friday, the 25th day of blockade enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance. No casualties were, however, reported in the incidents, police said.Two cocktails were also exploded at Suhrawardy Udyan beside the rally of Sramik, Karmachari, Peshajibi-Muktijoddha Samannay Parishad (SKPMSP) at 5pm. No procession or picketing was seen in support of the blockade in the capital while movement of vehicles on city streets remained usual.Officer-in-Charge of Wari Police Station Tapon Kumar Pal said pro-blockade supporters set fire to a Gulistan-bound bus of Madina Enterprise around 2:30pm on Friday.Three fire service units later doused the flames. Officer-in-Charge of Bangshal Police Station Abdul Kuddus Fakir said, a Victor Paribahan bus of the Sadarghat-Abdullahpur route was set on fire around 8:30am on Friday.Two fire service units doused the flames but the bus had been gutted by then, said fire service official Enayet Hossain.Bashar Sheikh, the driver, said around 12-14 persons were onboard the bus. When it was set on fire near English Road, the passengers jumped out of the windows.He thinks that troublemakers, in guise of passengers boarded the bus and commit the act of arson.Some unidentified miscreants set fire on a Narayanganj-bound bus in the Gulistan at 3pm. Fire was also set on a goods-laden truck at Dariakandi on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj highway in the morning. At least 39 persons died in blockade violence across the country in 24 days, while many others sustained burn injuries following bomb and arson attacks on vehicles.
