Speakers stressed on promoting more export from the region for making its economy vibrant.
They emphasized on enhancing export items through diversifying agricultural and non-agricultural products in the region by utilizing government initiatives.
This observation came at a seminar styled “Duty Free and Quota Free Market Access provided by SAARC Countries, China, Korea and Others” held at Regional Office of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) in Rajshahi city yesterday.
Under its National Training Programme, the EPB organized the seminar where more than 35 government and non-government officials, exporters, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders attended.
President of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md Muniruzzaman addressed the seminar as chief guest with EPB Director Alamgir Siddiqui in the chair.
President of Bangladesh Silk Industries Owners Association Liakat Ali and local unit president of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Prof Rozety Naznin also spoke.
During keynote presentation, Shamsuddin Ahmed, Deputy Director of EPB, narrated the aspects of boosting export volume towards accelerating the country’s economic condition.
Highlighting the present export position of agro-products sectors of the country and their global market he called up on the bankers to come forward with fund. He also urged the producers of the region to produce more qualitative agro-commodities using the favorable climatic condition to promote export activities.
