Many years have passed . We have forgotten that legendary poem. It is true that our development activity has advanced far by the years.
However, our mind is not developing and our attitude is not changing. Trust among people is deteriorating day by day. This negatively impacts the life. Moral values are decaying but our mind and attitude should be changed positively. We must build our mind in a way that we can replace evils of life with great virtues to ensure building a corruption society. Although a lot of economic and environmental development has been achieved, social development is yet to reach the level of our aspiration.
However, social development could only be achieved through building a culture of dignity that creates common respect the property of the state and society. This would help build an honest and fair life, acquire a positive change in our attitude, and lubricate the pace of sustainable devel To expedite the process to change, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Bhangoora in Pabna district Md Shamsul Alom, has come forward with a project titled` Moral Education for Sustainable Development .
To implement his project , he has targeted primary schools and the schools children who will grow up to the nation towards a welfare country in future. The project is now in progress with the help of Upazila Education Officer, Siddiqur Rahman, along with officers and members of the Upazila Innovation Team. For sustainability of the project, he has developed `Bhangura Ethical Foundation’with government officials and local civil society including journalist Mahbub ul Alom among others supporting the caves.
While visiting the different primary schools in Bhangura Pourasava, this correspondent found a variety of pictures and great words in decorated frames on the wall of each class room.
The children the start these days seeing the moral pictures and reading the ethical messages. When visiting Sarutia gov primary school he had also seen that the children were drawing ethical pictures, playing ethical values exchanging greetings and sharing their foods among themselves.
The school premises were found neat and clean because the children themselves picked debris from their vicinity to throw it in dustbin. Headmistress of Sarutia School, Ms Habiba Khondoker Eva has placed showing the sharing food and helping the helpless in the school premises. During assembly, she disseminates the ethical messages to motivate her students . This her sweet words are changing the minds of the children.
