BSS, Dhaka :
With an inflow of $1482.08 million in remittance, the country received the highest ever monthly remittance in July, according to Bangladesh Bank (BB).
The earlier monthly highest record was $1453.69 million in October, 2012.
The remittance inflow in July also marked a 15.19 percent rise over last June and 19.67 percent over July last year.
The expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $8,937.93 million in the first seven months of this year, which was 7.71 percent higher than the remittance inflow during the same period of the previous year.
An earlier report of the BB showed that the remittance inflow increased substantially from some countries including the USA and Malaysia, but decreased from the United Arab Emirate (UAE) and Kuwait, resulting in slowdown in overall inflow at the end of the immediate past financial year.
