A month-long ‘Rajshahi International Trade Fair-2014’ began on Collectorate Playground in the city Tuesday.
Organized by Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, inaugurated the fair as the chief guest last night.
With RCCI President Abu Bakker Ali in the chair, Commissioner of Rajshahi division Helaluddin Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Mejbahuddin Chowdhury and Additional Commissioner of RMP Sarder Tamij Uddin spoke as special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Lawmaker Badsha said the fair will facilitate familiarizing the local products particularly the agro-based ones around the country.
He referred to the enormous prospects of processing some agricultural products like mango, tomato and potato and said the unemployed youths can take the advantages after taking SME loan.
Badsha called for adequate business promotion in Rajshahi for making its socio-economic condition bolstered. He emphasized the need for ensuring a full-length business-friendly atmosphere for successful flourishing of trade and business in the region.
Terming adequate promotion of business as vital means of making any region economically prosperous, he said priority should be given on identification of existing problems relating to business environment here.
Referring to various issues like economic condition, he expected that the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would take effective measures for successful business promotion in the city.
