Month-long program at BRUR to observe Nat’l Mourning Day

Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah has said Bangladesh would have become a developed country long ago if Bangabandhu remained alive.
“Begum Rokeya University will go ahead with joint efforts of the teachers, students and all concerned through following, nurturing and implementation of the conscience of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said, reports BSS.
The Vice-chancellor said this while addressing a discussion organised by BRUR unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the occasion of wearing black badges in front of the Academic Building No-4 on the campus on Wednesday as chief guest.
The events were arranged to begin month-long observance programmes of the National Mourning Day- 2018 and 43rd martyrdom anniversary of Architect of Independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the university.
Dean of the faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr Abu Kalam Md Farid Ul Islam attended the functions as the special guest with President of BRUR BCL unit Abu Monnaf Al Kibria in the chair.
President of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall unit of BCL Pomel Barua, President of its Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Hall Hasan Ali and President of its Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib hall unit Salma Sabiha Khushi spoke.
Besides, the BRUR administration, Begum Rokeya University Teachers Association (BRUTA), BRUR units of Muktijuddher Chetonay Pragotisheel Shikhkhok Samaj (MCPSS) and Bangabandhu Parisahd arranged black-badge wearing events on Wednesday to begin the month-long observance programmes in the university.
Dean of the Faculty of Arts of BRUR Professor Dr Parimal Chandra Barman, President of BRUTA Professor Dr Gazi Mazharul Anwar, General Secretary of BRUR unit of Bangabandhu Parishad Mashiur Rahman, Heads of different departments, teachers, students, officials and employees of the university attended the functions.
