The month-long 26th Muktijudder Bijoy Mela-2014 began in the port city from yesterday afternoon but the main episode of the fair – reminiscence of the Liberation War heroes and candling of shika prajalan will be formally inaugurated on December 10 next.
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharf Hossain,MP will formally inaugurate the main episode of the fair as Chief Guest .
This was disclosed at a press conference held at local press club on Sunday . Ahamudur Rahman Siddique, Member Secretary of MBMP, read out the written statement in the press conference.
Former Mayor and President of Chittagong city Awami League A B M Mohiuddin Chowdhury also addressed the press conference. Speaking at the function Mohiuddin Chowdhury said the main objective of the fair is to motivate and inform the young generation about the spirit of the glorious Liberation War and sharpen their sense of belonging to the goal by hearing the discussion on various aspects of the historic event.
Co-Chairman of Muktijudder Bijoy Mele Parishad, Bodiul Alam, Commander of Chittagong District Muktijuddah Command Council, Commander of Chittagong city Mozaffar Ahmed among others attended the press conference. The organizers said discussion on different aspects of the glorious Liberation War is scheduled to be held on every day up to January 10 and eminent freedom fighters, writers, cultural organisers and journalists are likely to take part in the discussions.
The programmes will be held everyday with participation of eminent personalities, reminiscence on the heroic role of noted freedom fighters and sacrifices by their relatives, poetry recitation, and cultural function.
The organizer also disclosed that 14 separate Muktijudder Bijoy Mela will also organized in each upazila of the Chittagong this year.This is 26th of this fair since emergence of Bangladesh at outer stadium venue.
