A month-long ‘Heritage Handloom Festival-2020’ will kick off today in Dhaka aimed at promoting local handloom products and protecting the extinction of traditional items. However, considering the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, the festival will be organised though a digital platform this time.
The SME Foundation and Association of Fashion Designers of Bangladesh (AFDB) are jointly organising the festival for the third time.
Education Minister Dipu Moni is expected to inaugurate the festival as the chief guest with Md Masudur Rahman, chairperson of the SME foundation, in the chair on Wednesday. The announcement came at a press conference at the SME Foundation headquarters in the capital on Tuesday.
