The month long Bangladesh International Trade and Export Fair-2017 (BITEF-2017) will begin in the city on Friday with basic objective to showcase Bangladeshi Products abroad.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will formally inaugurate the fair on Abahani field in city’s Halishahar area at 11 am.
This was disclosed by convenor of the fair Aminnuzzaman Bhuiyan at a press conference held at Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CMCCI) auditorium this noon.
“CMCCI is going to arrange the International Trade and Export Fair for the fourth time in the country,” he said, adding that over 200 stalls including 10 mega, eight medium and 18 standard pavilions, banks and insurance institutions have been set up at the fair covering an area of near one and a half lakh square feet.
The fair will be opened for visitors from 10 am to 10 pm every day.
State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, City Mayor AZM Nasir Uddin, Dr Afsarul Amin, MP, Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury, MP, and Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Mahbubul Alam among others, will attend the inaugural function.
