Monno to be buried today

Industrialist and BNP chairperson’s advisory council member Haruner Rashid Khan Monno will be buried at his family graveyard in Manikganj today.
Monno, also a former minister without portfolio, died at Monno Medical College Hospital in Manikganj around 5:05am on Tuesday at the age of 86.
His first namaz-e-janaza will be held in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital at 10am today, while the 2nd one at South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at
11:00am, said a BNP press release on Wednesday.
Later, his body will be flown to Manikganj and his 3rd janaza will be held at Saturia’s Syed Kalushah College ground at 1:30pm followed by 4th one in Govt Debendra University College field at 2:30pm, fifth one in Harirampur’s Patgram High Scholl field at 3:30pm and sixth one at Monno Medical College ground at 4:30pm.
Later, he will be buried at his family graveyard near Hurunnahar Jam-e-Mosque around 5:30pm.
Monno was elected MP from Manikganj-2 constituency in 1991 and 1996 and from Manikganj-2 and 3 seats in 2001 with BNP ticket. He was also made a minister without portfolio in 2001.
Beginning his business career with Monno Art Press, Monno appeared as a big industrialist through founding the Monno Group of Industries. He established Monno Ceramic, Monno Jutex Industries, Monno Fabrics, Monno Attire Limited, Monno Medical College Hospital, Monno Nursing Institute, Monno International School and College and some other institutions.
