Abdul Momin, 55, of Rouha village in Saltia union of Gafargaon upazila was counting money standing in front of the bank counter. Immediately a young man snatched his money and ran away. Ekhlach Uddin, a security guard of the bank, chased after the snatcher and arrested the snatcher with the help of the locals and brought him to the bank. After receiving the news, Gafargaon police brought the snatcher from the bank to the police station.
The incident took place at Agrani Bank in Madhya Bazar of Gafargaon Sadar on Sunday.
The name of the arrested snatcher is Nazmul (30). He is the son of Shahin Miah of Raipur upazila in Narsingdi district.
Sarwar Hossain Talukder, Senior Principal Officer and Manager of Agrani Bank Gafargaon Branch, said a customer named Abdul Momin was standing in front of the counter withdrawing Tk 6,500 on Sunday afternoon. At that time, the snatcher snatched the money and ran away. Then the security guard of the bank Ekhlach Uddin started running after the snatcher. Later, with the help of local people, they arrested him and took him to the bank. In fact, we handed over the kidnapper to the police.
