A gang of unidentified miscreants shot at a money exchange trader in the city’s Pallabi area on Wednesday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Shahidul Islam, 50, inhabitant of Pallabi.
Pallabi Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziauzzaman confirmed the matter and said that the gang attacked Shahidul and fired several rounds of bullets at him in his money exchange shop, Mirpur Section-11 around 2:15pm. He received bullets in his chest and right leg.
Shahidul was taken to a local hospital first and then shifted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) when his condition appeared critical, the OC said.
He added that the law enforcers could not arrest anybody in this connection, the police official said.
