Folk legend Momtaz Begum will perform at Joy Bangla Utsab for the third time. She will be performing at the festival which is taking place at Barishal on June 16. After confirming the news Momtaz told this correspondent, “Earlier, I’ve performed in Joy Bangla Utsab for two consecutive times. This is the third time I’m performing at the festival. As the name of the festival is Joy Bangla so I usually start my performance with a patriotic song. After that I try to sing from the audience’s choice or else I render songs which I like. Overall, I try to make the concert lively as much as I can.”
This year’s Joy Bangla Utsab’ will be anchored by Shanta Jahan. Apart from that, Momtaz will be present at the inaugural programme of the Padma Bridge. She recently rendered a song on ‘Padma Bridge,’ which is written by Kabir Bakul and composed by Kishore. She will be also singing on a programme at Mymensing organised under the monetization of State Minister of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh, K M Khalid on June 25.
