Captain of Bangladesh Test Cricket team Mominul Haque is trying to get his rhythm with the instruction of Najmul Abadin Fahim, who is called ‘Sir’ by Mominul and his some teammates. Mominul’s form is going down day by day. He had not got run in his batting performance for a long time. His team Bangladesh Cricket team were also did not get a good result for a long time. So, Mominul is passing a bad time and his captaincy is facing questions.
To come out from those problems, Mominul Haque started his solo practice under supervision of his mentor Najmul Najmul Abedin at the Indoor of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Monday. All of his teammates are now taking leisure before the tour of West Indies, but Mominul began to hard work to regain his form.
Mominul Haque did batting for three hours in Indoor under supervision of Najmul Abadin Fahim. Fahim worked with the basic of Mominul Haque, the left-arm batter.
During his practice, Najmul Abadin Fahim said to the journalists, ” Mominul has been passing a bad patch for a long time. I worked with his basic. Once His basic was really good. But now his basic is not up to the mark. If he gives more three to four days, he will come out from his problem.”
Fahim also said, ” It is a tough task for a batsman to reghain his position if he goes out of basic batting. I hope now Mominul is doing good. He will come out from his problem soon.”
Mominul Haque reached twice in double digit figures in his latest 10 innings. His highest score was 37 runs. Mominul’s last seven innings were 0,9,2,5, 6,2,0.
Mominul Haque’s average was above 60 in his first 14 Test matches. He had a highest average in Test cricket among the Bangladesh batters. But now his average is 38.31. Opener Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan have better average that that of Mominul Haque.
Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Jalal Yunus said, ” BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon and we shall discuss with Mominul. Papon is now out of the country. After his arrival, we shall talk to Mominul Haque about his problem. If it is necessary, Mominul Haque will quit captaincy to come out from his pressure as a batter.”
