Top-order batsman Mominul Haque and wicket keeper Mushfiqur Rahim set a highest 236-run third wicket stand for Bangladesh in Tests during the first innings of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Wednesday.
The previous highest third-wicket partnership was between Mominul Haque and Tamim Iqbal against New Zealand back in 2013.
The partnership between the batsmen is also fourth in the list of highest partnerships for Bangladesh for any wicket. It is also Bangladesh’s third-highest partnership against Sri Lanka in Test cricket, surpassing the previous one set by Imrul Kayes and Shamsur Rahman in 2014.
