Mominul Haque has been included into Bangladesh’s Asia Cup squad as number of players in the squad increased to 16. Nazmul Hossain Shanto has been retained in the team.
Mominul was initially unnamed when Bangladesh’s squad was announced on Thursday (August 30). However, he has been recalled into ODI side after three years since his last participation in 2015 World Cup.
The left-hander’s chance was created when Nazmul Hossain Shanto suffered hand injury during practice session. Although he has not been excluded from the squad.
Mominul gained selectors’ attentions when he smashed 182 runs in a List A match against Ireland last month. He scored 297 runs in four one-dayers for Bangladesh A.
The Cox’s Bazar-born cricketer finally received his price on Thursday (September 6) when BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) extended the squad from 15 men to 16.
