Islamic Andolan Bangladesh’s senior Nayeb-e-Amir Mufti Syed Faizul Karim has said the foreign minister AK Abdul Momen’s request to India to help Awami League to stay in power is just tarnished image of the country.
“His request made it clear that the ruling party wants to hold power by stealing votes again,” Syed Faizul Karim said this while addressing a protest rally in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.
Islami Andolon Bangladesh organized the rally protest against the ‘foreign minister’santi-sovereignty and treasonous statement, stop the increase in commodity prices and increase the price of fuel oil.
Faizul Karim said, “The foreign minister stated India-Bangladesh relationship is like husband and wife. He said, the people of Bangladesh are living in heaven. On the day of his speech, a mother in the hill region took her child to the market to sell to
alleviate hunger. which is published in the media.”
“Increasing the price of urea fertilizer by Tk7 per kg and skyrocketing price of diesel is nothing but a joke with the farmers. People of the country are also bearing the brunt of high commodity prices. The businessmen of the government party are exploiting the people,” he said.
Regarding the tea workers, Faizul Karim said, ‘Tea workers have been demanding an increase in their wages for a long time. Tk120 can be the wage? Thousands of crores of taka are being laundered abroad, and the tea workers are protesting on the streets to demand their Tk300 wages and it is a shame for the government.”
He urged the government to accept demands of tea workers.
