Molla Sabira Sultana of Bangladesh Ansar bagged gold medal in the 48 kg weight category of the ARK Group 12th National Weightlifting (Women’s) Championship on the opening day at the gymnasium of National Sports Council on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Ainuddin of Bangladesh Ansar earned gold in the 56 kg weight category of the ARK Group 35th National Weightlifting (Men’s) Championship at the same venue on the same day.
Earlier, President of Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation and Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General Abul Hossain inaugurated the weightlifting meet as the chief guest, while Managing Director and CEO of Shimanto Bank Limited Mokhlesur Rahman, Vice-Chairman of ARK Group Md Atikuzzaman, Managing Director of ARK Group Mostafa Shahadat Hossain were with him as special guests.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation Narayan Chandra Devnath delivered the address of welcome.
Vice-President of the Federation Md Feroz Khan presided over the opening ceremony.
