Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) on Tuesday signed an agreement with Rupali Bank SureCash mobile banking service to
disburse grants from Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation (BLWF) for laborers.
“MoLE signed the agreement with Rupali Bank SureCash mobile banking service so that laborers can receive the grants, allowances and other financial help without any hassle,” said a statement from the ministry.
BLWF director general Anisul Awal, Deputy Managing Director of Rupali Bank M Jahangir Alam and SureCash chief executive officer Dr Shahdat khan signed the deal while State Minister of the ministry Mujibul Haque was present at the signing ceremony at the ministry’s conference room.
“Till now we used to receive written applications, scrutinize those and then give the allowance to the applicants. It was a very complicated process, which used to take long time,” said Mujibul.
“Labourers from now on can file application online for grants and other allowances and the money will now go directly to the mobile bank account of the applicants,” he added.
