The Qulkhwani of former mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and President of the City Awami League ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury was held in the city yesterday .
On the occasion, Mohiuddin’s family arranged mezban (traditional food arrangement) for 80,000 people at 12 places of the port city, including his Chashma Hill residence in Sholoshahar area, on the day, said Mohammad Osman Gani, Personal Secretary of Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
The other venues for mezban include King of Chittagong in Panchlaish area, K Square Community Centre at GEC intersection, Kisholoy Community Centre at Chawkbazar, Swiss Park Community Centre in Panchlaish R/A, Swaranika Community Centre at Love Lane, N Mohammad Convention Hall in Muradpur area, KB Convention Hall at Bakalia, BIP Banquet Community Centre and Sagarika Square at Kazirdewri and Golden Touch Community Centre in Double Mooring area.
Besides, mezban for the people of Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and other communities arranged at Rima Convention Centre in Jamal Khan area, while there will be mezban at Chashma Hill for women, said family sources. Mohiuddin Chowdhury passed away early Friday at Max Hospital in Chittagong at the age of 74.
