Former city mayor and Chittagong city AL President of Chittagong ABM Mohiuddin chowdhury vows to contest the forthcoming Mayor election under the banner of Chittagong Nagorik Committee like earlier.
He was elected Mayor for the 3 consecutive terms as Mayor under the same banner.
He also disclosed about the consent of the Party chief Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He disclosed it before the leaders, workers of city AL at the Shah Amanat International Airport after his return from performing Umrah Hajj on Saturday .
He also ensures that he will contest the mayor election with the consent of the Prime Minister and said if he is elected, city govt formula will be implemented.
He asked the leaders and workers at grass root levels in the city to take preparations to work for his election.
About huge workers of the party, well-wishers gathered at airport to welcome him .
Eye witnesses sources said a contingent of 400 trucks, hundreds of motorbikes and unlimited numbers of private cars stormed at the airport to welcome the city AL President.
In the meantime, 14-party alliance meeting in city announced ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury is the only candidate for Mayorship but mixed reactions among the party senior leaders published in the newspapers recently over his nomination as Mayor .
Mentionable that Mohiuddin Chowdhury in his fourth time election in Mayor post was defeated by BNP candidate Manzoor Alam in 2010 by huge margin.
