Begum Fazilatunnesa, an advisor of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League and chairman of Gopalganj District Jatiya Mohila Sangstha, died on Wednesday afternoon. She was 70.
Fazilatunnesa, who had been suffering from old-age complications, breathed her last at Moksedpur in Gopalganj on her way to Dhaka by an ambulance.
She left behind three sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
Fazilatunnesa, wife of late Aktaruddin Mian, a former parliament member from Kashiani thana in Gopalganj district, was an ex- president of Gopalganj District Mohila Awami League. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the death of Fazilatunnesa.
In a condolence message, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed her profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
