The parallel gas transmission line from Moheshkhali to Anowara is expected to resume transmission from June next as the 75 percent works of the project already completed in the meantime.
The under constructed transmission line at cost of Tk1157 cr is expected to be completed by this time aimed at to supply the imported LNG (liquefied Natural Gas) to national grid from Moheshkali terminal under private management .
Gas Transmission company Ltd is implementing the project. Fuel experts opined that Bangladesh is going one step ahead for fuel security in the country through installation of Moheshkahli transmission line. GTCL sources said another 79 kilometers long pipe line from Moheskhali to Anowara is being constructed by GTCL for supply of natural gas after refining the imported LNG . Four sister organizations including GTCL of Petro Bangla is constructing this parallel gas transmission line at a cost of Tk1157 cr.
Under the project CTMS(custody Transfer Memory System) installed at Anowara point It is learnt , under the first track projects o t the govt, first pipe line project from Moheshkahli to Anowara was installed at a cost o f Taka1,040 cr in first phase. Through this pipeline, on average a day about 500 million cft natural gas is being supplied from Moheskhali terminal after resification of the imported liquefied gas.
As a result, the consumers o f Karnaphuli Gas Distribution company are getting better advantages of fuel. Sources said after completion o f first project , the second parallel line project from Moheshkali to Anowara under taken at a cost of Tk1157 cr and after completion of this parallet transmission line, all sorts complications in supplying the resificated LNG gas to national grid will be removed without any suspicion. Project Director of Moheshkali Anowara parallel pipe line Project Engineer Ariful Hoque Fakir told media persons that 75 percent works of the second phase project already completed and the rest will be ended by end of June next . He hoped that after completion of the project work, gas transmission will be effected through both lines to avoid any complications in national grid .
