Dhaka Mohammedan SC and Abahani Limited won their respective matches in the Dhaka Metropolis Women’s Cricket League on Friday.
Dhaka Mohammedan SC eared a comfortable 217-run victory over Rayer Bazar AC at BKSP ground 4 while Abahani Limited managed eight-run win over Jahurul Islam City Cricket Club at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium.
Sent to bat first, Mohammedan SC piled up a huge 288 runs for 8 in a reduced 37-over-a-side match with openers Sathira Jakir making 86 off 84 balls hitting eleven boundaries.
Ayesha Rahman scored 55 runs off 41 balls, featuring 10 fours and two sixes.
Salma Akhter grabbed four wickets for 51 runs while Nadesha Muntaha took two for 51 runs.
In reply, Rayer Bazar AC were forced to fold their innings at only 71 runs for 8 in allocated 37 overs with Sunny Rahman Mishu making 18 and Nadesha Muntaha 17 runs
Ayesha Rahman, who scored the match highest 86 runs, also claimed three wickets for 18 runs and was adjudged the player of the match while Pabitra Roy also bagged three wickets for just 6 runs.
At Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium, Abahani Limited batted first after winning the toss and scored 153 for 9 in 40 overs with Lata Mondal making 48 and Suborna Islam 26 runs.
Shaila Sharmin picked up four wickets for 22 runs while Farzana Kakoli took two wickets for 15 runs.
In reply, Jahurul Islam City Cricket Club were dismissed for 145 runs in 38.4 overs with Sharmin Akhter scoring 40 and Shaila Sharmin 20 runs.
Rasheda Rahman took three wickets for 28 runs while Lata Mondal took two for 23 runs.
