Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will face Brothers Union Club Limited tomorrow in the final of the Airtel Under-18 Football Tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. The match kicks-off at 5.00 pm.
Regarding the final match, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation House on Tuesday.
Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Abdus Salam Murshedy, General Secretary of BFF Abu Nayeem Md Shohag, Manager of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Imtiaz Ahmed Nakib, Coach of Mohammeadan Jashimuddin Joshi and Captain of Mohammedan Badrul Ahsan Tutul, Team Leader of Brothers Union Club Limited Jaglul Shahriar, Assistant Coach of Brothers Mahbubul Alam Palak, Captain of Brothers Ezazul Islam Ezaz were present at the conference.
Nakib said, ” Mohammedan Sporting Club will commence a long term coaching camp with the players of Under-18 team. A number of five or six players will be included in the the main team of the Motijheel based outfit. If they show good performance then they will play for Mohammedan in Premier League and other prestigious meet.”
Joshi said, “Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited are the reigning champions of this meet. We will try to retain it. We could not clinch the title of the Premier Football League due to misfortune and other reasons.”
Tutul said, “We have team work and team spirit. We hope we will be the champions of the meet by performing well in the final.”
Jaglul Shahriar said, ” Brothers Union have produced many footballers. I hope BFF will arrange under-18 Football League instead of Tournament. I am giving thanks to Coach Wasim Iqbal who played the key role to bring this team in the final.
Palak said, ” We got only 16 days to prepare the team. I think that the team reached the final for Wasim Iqbal’s hard work.”
Ezaz said, ” Mohammedan are a strong opponent but I hope we will be the champions. Both teams have fifty-fifty chance to clinch the title.”
Abdus Salam Murshedy said, “Every participant teams got Tk three lakh each. The champions will be awarded Tk fifty thousand while the runners-up will get Tk twenty thousand.”
