Mohammedan beat Sheikh Jamal in DPL Cricket

Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beat Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited by five wickets in their match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground-4 in Savar on Monday.
Chasing Sheikh Jamal’s fighting total of 185 in 48 overs, Mohammedan Sporting Club reached the winning spot making 186 for the loss of five wickets when they had 28 balls to spare.
Opener Rony Talukdar of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited knocked a sparkle 57. His 79-ball innings was studded with five fours and a sixer.
Third-down Mohammad Hafeez hit an exact 50. His 58-ball knock was laced with five fours and a six.
Fourth-down Ariful Islam remained unbeaten with 33. His 57-ball innings saw one six and one four.
Robiul Islam Robi, Saif Hassan, Parvez Rasool and Sumon Khan of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited took one wicket each for 22, 24, 29 and 33 runs respectively.
Earlier, fifth-down Taibur Rahman and seventh-down Sunzamul Islam of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited fought back against the tight and controlled bowling attack of the bowlers of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited.
Taibur Rahman remained unbeaten with 53. His 78-ball innings was ornamented with five fours.
Sunzamul Islam hit a polished 43. He hit four fours and a sixer in his 47-ball knock.
Nazmul Islam of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited grabbed three wickets in the space of nine runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Hasan Mahmud, Yeasin Arafat and Shuvagata Hom bagged two wickets each instead of 30, 32 and 39 runs respectively.
Mahmudullah Riyad took one wicket for 33 runs.
