Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beat Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited by 3-1 goals in their match of the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at Bhasha Sainik Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla on Monday.
After yesterday’s outcome, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited have taken the 6th position in the points table collecting 25 points from 17 matches, while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited have achieved the 4th position bagging 30 points from as many matches.
Mohammedan led the first half 2-1.
Morsalin of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club put his team ahead by a right-footer using a right side cross of his teammate Fahim in the 35th minute of the match.
After three minutes, Sheikh Jamal’s foreign recruit Otabek’s shot was found net after Mohammedan’s foreign recruit Souleymane Diabate tried to clear the ball.
In the 42nd minute, Diabate kicked the ball after he got the ball from his teammate Morsalin but Diabate’s shot was touched the ball in the hand of Sheikh Jamal’s defender Raihan at the D-box of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club. Thus the referee awarded a penalty kick in favour of the traditional Motijheel based outfit.
Diabate doubled the margin by a spot-kick.
After the lemon-break, Mohammedan were awarded another penalty kick in the 81st minute of the match. Diabate sealed the fate of the match (3-1) by a spot-kick.
Earlier, Mohammedan were deprived from a confirm in the 25th minute of the match. Mohammedan’s foreign recruit Aaron Beardon’s header bounced back from the cross-piece. Aaron got the ball on his way from a right side cross of his teammate Morsalin.
Morsalin’s power-packed shot was saved by Sheikh Jamal goalie Nayyem in the 32nd minute of the game.
Earlier, the first round match between the two teams was ended in a 1-1 draw.
