India suffered a huge blow after their fast bowler Mohammed Shami was on Saturday ruled out of the Australia tour due to a hamstring injury.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed Shami’s injury and has called up pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar as a replacement for the limited-overs series comprising 5 ODIs and 3 T20s.
Having just made a comeback to the national side following a nine-month long injury break, Shami has sustained an injury to his left hamstring which will keep him out of action for four to six weeks.
