“My heart exists with theatre. I prefer to engage with theatre plays most of the time. Besides theatre, acting in TV plays or performing as a model in TV commercials are my passion,” noted actor and director Mohammad Bari said this while talking about his professional career.
Since 1992 Mohammad Bari has been engaged with theatre troupe, Theatre Art Unit as its Coordinator. Till now he has been working with this group. Under the banner of this theatre group he gave direction in several plays like Somoyer Proyojoney, Shesher Kobita and Bandh. Specially his directed play Somoyer Proyojoney already received several awards for his direction.
Born in the adjacent to Rangpur city Mohammad Bari’s acted first TV play was Mofussil Sangbad, which was produced by Abu Taher Mostafizur Rahman under the story written by Mizanur Rahman.
Son of late Abul Hayat and Surtunnesa Begum, he also acted in first TV package play titled Prachir Periye under the direction of late Atiqul Haque Chowdhury. Later he also acted in many other plays.
In small screen, Bari’s directed first play was Anisul Haque’s written Sommohon. Later he also gave direction of another play titled Baba under same writer’s written story. Sommohon and Baba were telecasted on BTV and RTV respectively.
Therefore, Mohammad Bari is now watching on the screen as a model in two new TVCs – BSRM, directed by Salauddin and RFL Badna, directed by Dhrubo Hasan. He is getting huge responses from the viewers to perform in these TVCs.
Meanwhile, Bari’s acted serials – Moina Tia, directed by Shahin Sarkar, and Uttor Dakshin, directed by Abul Hayat, are being telecasted on Asian TV and BTV respectively now.
Achieved PhD degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University Dr Mohammad Bari wants to attach himself with acting rest of life besides his regular job, he said.
